The Black Mamas Bailout is part of a national effort to bring attention to the thousands of people held in jail pretrial simply because they cannot afford bail. Many are mothers, separated from their children and families before they have had their day in court. This Welcome Home Ceremony is a space to come together, recognize the impact of this system, and support mothers as they return home to their families.
